Families and agents ask us the same question first: what does a year at Rauf Denktaş University actually cost? This page answers it with the figures from the university's 2026-2027 Global Tuition Fees schedule, the document we work from as the university's recruitment partner in Nicosia. Every amount below is in euro, applies to international students, and is quoted after the Dev/Soy partner scholarship that comes with files submitted through us. Nothing is paid to apply, and nothing is paid before the university's pre-approval.
The short answer: what one academic year costs
Two lines make up the year: tuition, which is where the scholarship applies, and a registration and social activity fee of €150 per semester (€300 for the academic year), which every student pays in full, including students on a full scholarship. Put together:
Students who need the English preparatory year before their degree are priced as a package on the MENA and Africa list: €7,000 at list price, €3,500 with the 50% scholarship, plus the registration and social activity fee. We confirm the year-by-year structure of that route in writing for each student, because it depends on the placement test result after arrival.
The official schedule, line by line
This is the university's schedule as issued for 2026-2027. The columns after "tuition" are not extra charges — they are the payment steps through which the year's tuition and the first semester's €150 fee are collected: a deposit to secure the place, a "complete registration + activation" payment on enrolment, and, on the annual plans, two instalments after final registration. On every line the steps add up to tuition plus the €150 first-semester fee.

Two details worth knowing: paying the whole year upfront earns an additional 5% discount on tuition, and the fee that applies to a student is the one in force in the academic year they enrol — the university sets its schedule each year, so a student who starts in 2026-2027 is on the 2026-2027 figures.
Which list applies to my student?
The university runs two fee lists and the difference between them is not small, so this is the first thing we settle when a file is opened:
- MENA & Africa list — students from Africa, the Middle East and North Africa. Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and the Gulf all sit here.
- Eurasia list — students from Central Asia and the Turkic republics: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and their neighbours. The bachelor's scholarship on this list is 75% rather than 50%.
- South Asia — Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and Nepal are placed on one of the two lists when the file is opened. Send us the passport before you quote a family and we will confirm which figures apply, in writing, the same day.
The Dev/Soy partner scholarship
The scholarship shown in the schedule is applied to every file submitted through Dev/Soy. There is no separate scholarship application, no entrance exam and no interview: the reduction is part of the offer, and it appears on the student's documents at the tuition line. It applies to tuition only — the registration and social activity fee is paid in full — and it continues through the programme subject to the university's academic-standing rules. Because the scholarship is tied to the file rather than to a competition, we can put the final figure in front of a family on the first day rather than after a wait.
What is included, and what is not
Included in the figures above: tuition for the programme and the registration and social activity fee. Included in Dev/Soy's work at no charge to the student: the application and acceptance letter, the airport welcome at Ercan, registration on campus, the student residence permit process and settling-in support in the first weeks.
Not included: accommodation (we arrange it after registration; the student pays the landlord or dormitory directly), flights, the government fees for the residence permit and health report, and personal living costs. We give the accommodation and permit figures for a specific student at the time we open the file rather than publishing a single number here, because they depend on the housing chosen and the nationality.
When each amount is due
The sequence below is the one we follow for every student. The point that matters most to families is the second step: no money changes hands before the university has issued its pre-approval.
- Send the documentsHigh school diploma or transcript and a valid passport (for master's applicants, the bachelor's diploma and transcript). Sending them costs nothing.
- Pre-application — no paymentWe submit the file to the university. There is no application fee and no deposit at this stage.
- Pre-approval from the universityThe university confirms that the student meets the entry requirement for the programme.
- Deposit — after the pre-approvalThe first payment is the deposit in the schedule (€1,000 for a bachelor's degree on the annual plan). It is paid to the university's own bank account, never to an intermediary.
- Acceptance letter within 1-2 daysOnce the payment is confirmed, the university issues the acceptance letter the student travels with.
- Travel within 15 daysThe student books their own flight and should arrive within fifteen days of the letter.
- Registration on campusWe meet the student at Ercan Airport, take them to the university, complete the "registration + activation" payment and the enrolment together, and start the residence permit. The remaining instalments follow after final registration on the dates in the schedule.
Before any payment: the rules we tell every family
Three points from the university's own terms, said plainly here because they are better heard before a transfer than after it:
- Refunds are not guaranteed. A refund request is considered only with an official visa-rejection document, it is decided by the university's board, and if approved the money goes back to the bank account it came from. Students from countries that need a transit visa or an in-person application at a TRNC representation — Nigeria among them — should complete that step before paying the deposit, and we help with it.
- The acceptance letter follows the payment, not the other way round. The pre-approval is what confirms eligibility; the acceptance letter is issued after the deposit.
- Registration has a deadline. The acceptance letter states the date by which enrolment must be completed. A student who arrives after it keeps their place for the following semester, which is why we ask for travel within fifteen days.
What the fee buys: the university in brief
Rauf Denktaş University is a young, English-taught university in the historic walled city of Nicosia. On paper: recognised by YÖK, Türkiye's Council of Higher Education, since October 2025; accredited by YÖDAK and the TRNC Ministry of Education; and holding FIBAA programme accreditation from Germany. It teaches bachelor's degrees in architecture, software engineering, information systems, business administration, banking and finance, accounting and finance, international relations, international trade, tourism and hospitality management and international law, a two-year associate degree in computer technology and programming, and master's programmes in business administration, architecture, international relations, software engineering and law. It does not have a faculty of medicine or health sciences, and we say so in the first conversation rather than the last. Three lines, and a written answer the same day
1. Nationality and the qualification completed — WAEC, NECO, HSSC, +2, attestat, A-Level or other.
2. The programme or field the student wants.
3. Bachelor's, master's or the preparatory route.
We come back the same day with the programme, the entry threshold and the exact cost for that student — in writing, with no commitment on your side. Agencies keep their own advisory fee with the family; we are paid on the university side, so working with us costs the agency nothing.
