The first question every family asks

“Will the degree be recognised?” — here the answer rests on documents, not promises.

Official YÖK recognition — 22 October 2025

Rauf Denktas University is officially recognised by Türkiye's Council of Higher Education (YÖK). According to the university's own announcement, this recognition means RDU can formally admit students from Türkiye and its programmes appear in the YÖK higher education programmes and quota guide. One of the university's programmes is independently verifiable in the YÖK undergraduate atlas.

In North Cyprus the university is approved by YÖDAK (Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council) and accredited by the TRNC Ministry of National Education. Internationally it holds accreditation from FIBAA, the German-based Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation.

An honest note: institutional recognition and individual degree equivalence are two different things. Recognition of the university is the precondition; equivalence after graduation is assessed by the authority in the student's home country. We verify the current status for each student before they apply.

Common questions

Is the degree recognised?
Rauf Denktas University is officially recognised by Türkiye's Council of Higher Education (announcement dated 22 October 2025) and its programmes appear in the YÖK guide. It is also approved by YÖDAK, accredited by the TRNC Ministry of National Education and holds FIBAA accreditation. Individual degree equivalence after graduation is assessed by the authority in the student's own country — we check the current position before anyone applies.
Does every student get the 50% scholarship?
The 50% partner scholarship applies to applications made through Dev/Soy, within our partnership allocation. The university's own merit, sports and international student scholarships are assessed separately; if a student's profile qualifies for a higher rate, we pursue that instead. The scholarship applies to tuition — registration and activation fees and accommodation are separate.
Are IELTS or TOEFL required?
No. IELTS 5.0, TOEFL iBT 60 or Duolingo 90 allows a student to start their programme directly. Without a certificate, they sit the university placement exam on arrival or join the one-year English Preparatory Programme.
How much is accommodation?
Accommodation is not included in tuition and rates are set by the university according to room type. We confirm current dormitory options and prices with the university and send them to you — we do not publish estimates here. The university's general student budget, including accommodation, is roughly $480–970 a month.
When should a student apply?
The autumn term starts in September, so applications need to be completed over the summer to leave time for travel, visa and residence steps. Spring intake applications run towards January-February. We will tell you honestly which intake is realistic for a given student.
What exactly does Dev/Soy handle?
Programme and scholarship planning, document preparation, the application itself, acceptance letter follow-up, payment guidance, travel and visa checks, student residence permit and registration on the island, accommodation placement and the first week of settling in. The first consultation is free.
